I had the amazing opportunity to visit Cape Town, South Africa for my best friend's wedding....and of course I took my bicycle gear :)

I linked up with a really great tour company called IRide Africa. They got me set-up on a sweet full carbon Specialized road bike. All I had to do was bring my helmet, cycling kit, sun glasses, shoes, and gloves. My guide met me at my hotel with the bikes. If you go, ask for Joe Nesbitt. He was extremely knowledgeable about the area and tailored the ride to do pretty much what ever you wanted.

We did about a 50mi loop along the coast and it was absolutely beautiful!

With the majestic Table Mountain looming over head and the rugged coast below there is no other place I've ridden that has compared to this landscape.

Route: Started at my hotel (The Andros Boutique - If you're looking for the best place to stay this is it...entire time I was there I was like I don't deserve this haha The people that work there are tremendous-hearts of gold...really). We then headed southeast towards the water and around Table Mountain. We rode through Clifton, Camps Bay, and Hout bay before starting the climb towards Chapman's Peak and dropping down the backside to False bay and Fish Hoek. We then took in the scenery around Kalk bay at a super cute cafe called Lekker (means "Pleasant" in Afrikaans).

If you love climbing you would love this route! The riding around The Twelve Apostles Mountains was gradual yet challenging enough to keep you in and out of the saddle as you gazed out over your right shoulder surrounded by jaw dropping ocean views.

I was really hoping to be able to ride down to the Cape (aka the southern most point) but apparently the road was very rough and not suitable for our bikes. Just means another trip with some wider tires!

All in all I would HIGHLY recommend this ride to any adventure loving cyclist. I spent an entire month's research stipend on this trip, and I will never question it.

Miles and Miles and Miles of mountainous, undulating coastline with perfectly smooth roads! And did I mention how amazing the people are! So down to earth and humble. Overall one of the best experiences I've had. It is truly a must do trip for any cyclist.

Keep spinning :)
